Passover is an annual feast of the Lord found in the book of Exodus. As a Jew, Jesus Christ celebrated Passover, and communion arose from the elements of the Seder. Jesus highlighted the third cup, the cup of redemption, which represents His blood shed for the remission of our sins. Jesus also taught us that the unleavened bread (the matzo) represents His body broken for us. Passover commemorates the Lord’s deliverance of his people from slavery to Pharaoh. In the New Testament, it also commemorates our Messiah Jesus delivering those who receive Him from slavery to sin. The purpose of this redemption is so that God may be glorified and we might experience new life in Him. The Passover Seder will take place at Encompass Church on Sunday, April 3rd at 5pm. This is a free event but registration is required due to limited seating. To register, visit the following link.
